We are building a 16x40 log sided cabin with a loft, main floor bedroom, utility room, future bathroom, kitchen and living room. There will be a 8x40 covered porch. This cabin will be built to WI. Uniform Dwelling Codes and will be wired. Green Steel roof, pre-stained log siding, chimney, car sided walls, exposed beam.

Day one. We got the holes dug after Struggling through lot of rock! We got the footers poured, all the posts are set and the floor joists are cut! Hot day it was well above 90 today. Did some minor wiring work and other odds and ends.

Ok so I missed a few days.

We are now into day 6 of the cabin building and here are some updated pics.

The cabin floor is on as is the porch floor, the walls are all up and sheeted, steps to the porch are on, the carsiding roof is on, the insulation is on in the roof and the steel is all on the cabin roof and porch roof, the chimney is in the cabin, the interior walls are up and most of the electrical wire has been ran. The north gable end is framed in. Lots of other items to numerous to mention. At any rate pretty good going for only 6 days!

Well here we are now into day 7 below and progress is moving and it is hot.

Well after day 9 and the hot weather we getting closer see the pics below. 90% of the car siding is on, most of the electrical is done just need to install some lights and ceiling fans, the loft floor is on and the place is cleaned up as Dave & Jennifer & kids will be staying there over the 4th. We will go back on Monday the 9th. and finish up that week.
